Enterprise Week will officially kick off on Monday 4 August, providing the community with a weeklong event filled with tech talks, digital workshops, networking events and facility tours at Joondalup’s newest co-working space sixty27.

Hosted by West Coast Institute in partnership with the City of Joondalup, Enterprise Week is open to all members of the community, local businesses, entrepreneurs and those looking to be a part of the emerging digital economy.

The free weeklong event will culminate with the Startup Weekend (August 8 -10), a 54-hour contest for aspiring entrepreneurs to see if their startup idea is viable in the market place.

All of the weeklong activity, including the Startup Weekend, will take place at sixty27, Joondalup’s new co-working space located at West Coast Institute’s main campus at 35 Kendrew Crescent, Joondalup. The co-working space has been designed to provide a dynamic environment for entrepreneurs, micro-businesses and digital start-ups to collaborate, share ideas and have the opportunity to participate in workforce development activities whilst connecting with broader industry and research networks.

“sixty27 is a creative workplace designed to nurture young businesses, entrepreneurs and start-ups, helping them through the infancy stages of their business and providing them with an opportunity to network and collaborate with other tenants through regular networking activities, events and programs” said Dr Martinus, Director of Business Development, West Coast Institute.

Joondalup Mayor Troy Pickard said the sixty27 Coworking Space was a first for northern metropolitan Perth.

“This partnership project between the West Coast Institute and the City of Joondalup will result in a creative workplace that requires no commute to the Perth CBD, boasts stunning lakeside views and is within walking distance of public transport and soon to be the largest shopping centre in Western Australia,” Mayor Pickard said. “The sixty27 Coworking Space will be a hub which drives innovation and entrepreneurial activity, and I encourage the local business community, home based business owners and budding entrepreneurs to embrace the global phenomenon of coworking.”
