  • The Perth Code Dojo is open to developers of any language. The groups main focus is around software craftsmanship and sharing with others.   • With just over 6 weeks to go until Ignition 2014, here’s the latest news from Curtin.
  • Local Kickstarter Project, YellowBanana is struggling to meet their target.  YellowBanana is Australia’s FIRST online directory for teachers and lifelong learners – find anything to learn, taught by anyone, anytime, anywhere. Interesting to see a Potato Salad can raise over $50,000, but a legitimate startup solving a real problem struggles to raise $20k.  Go help Jessica out please.

  • Uber, the taxi taunting startup from the US has officially launched its UberBlack service in Perth. At a subtle event held in Mt Lawley, Uber hosted a jiggle of journalists who grilled them incessantly on their blatant disregard for the law and public safety. Your //Startup News reporter however,  asked the more important questions like what technology stack do they use, and will they be using Google driverless cars. All whilst sipping brewskies and nibbling on sliders.  That story to follow when we can be bothered writing it up 🙂
