The Founder Institute kicks off a new semester of its successful accelerator program in May.

FI (http://fi.co) bills itself as the world’s largest startup accelerator, with over 1300 graduate companies. Based in Silicon Valley and with chapters across 92 cities and 50 countries, the Founder Institute has helped aspiring technology entrepreneurs launch over 1563 companies. It’s been running in Perth for the last two years and has helped some of the community’s most active entrepreneurs to get off to a flying start.

The new leaders in Perth are Andrew Hall and Kirsten Rose, who take over from successful startup founder Claire Macgregor, who led the previous two Perth semesters.

andrew hallAndrew Hall is the CEO and founding investor of Australia’s leading digital farm-to-plate ecommerce business TLG (thelocalgrocer.com.au), Venture Partner at technology investment firm SRV (stoneridgeventures.com.au) and advisor to numerous technology companies.

kirsten roseKirsten Rose is the WA State Manager for the Australian Institute of Company Directors (aicd.com.au) and the previous CEO of the Sustainable Energy Association of Australia. With a background in professional services, Kirsten is passionate about connecting the established business community to the startup ecosystem.

Other leaders of local tech companies have signed on to mentor the program, including many with globally successful start up experiences.

“Founder Institute has established itself as an important part of the Perth startup ecosystem, and I’m thrilled to be leading the third Perth semester with Kirsten,” says FI Director Andrew Hall.

Perth Founder Institute alumna Felicity Millman says, “My experience was amazing and critical to the success of my startup. Since my participation in Founders I’ve gone on to further wins and funding. I’d strongly encourage any entrepreneurs, or any technically skilled person with a good idea, to apply.”

Director Andrew Hall adds, “The momentum in the Perth startup scene has been steadily building recently with the launch of several world-class accelerators. Founders Institute is a great way for entrepreneurs to stress test their business concept in a structured environment with the support of globally successful mentors. Going through FI will greatly increase an entrepreneurs chance of success in term of establishing, growing and financing a new business”
