Perth startup JAK App is making finding a tradesman as easy as finding a cab or a short-term rental.

The process of finding a tradesman can be full of uncertainty and reluctance, but Perth startup JAK is disrupting the current process by offering a new avenue to find tradesmen to complete repairs and maintenance work.JAK App Seeks Funding

JAK is an iOS and Android app that connects qualified tradesmen with customers, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. With just a tap of a finger, a tradesman can be on their way to provide you with help in a hurry. Co-Founder and CEO Trevor Pugh said:

“In a well established multibillion dollar industry, we were aware of competitors in the marketplace, but felt the customer’s and tradesmen’s needs still weren’t being met,”

“Not only have we developed an outstanding product that addresses these needs, but we believe that we can make a positive impact on peoples lives and the way they do things.”

For customers, JAK ensures that every service provider is qualified, police cleared and insurance checked. To ensure quality of service is upheld, customers are also asked to rate their tradesmen’s service on completion of the job.

Customers no longer have to waste time waiting around for a tradesman to arrive. Trevor clarified:

“JAK allows you to track the arrival time of your tradesman, meaning the days of blacking out an afternoon in your calendar for a leaking sink are long gone.”

For tradesmen, JAK provides the ultimate lifestyle. A JAK tradesman saves valuable time by having access to more jobs when they want them. They simply switch on their availability to receive job notifications, or switch it off to have a surf, go for a run or spend time with the kids.

With no membership or subscription fees, tradesmen on the JAK platform only pay a service fee once they have completed a job. What’s more, all payments from customers are made instantly and JAK automatically creates invoices and monthly reports, freeing up even more time.

Currently available in Perth and Melbourne, JAK has onboarded hundreds of service providers since launching late last year.

With a growing customer base of households, property managers and small businesses, including a retail group with stores Australia wide, JAK is proving to be a valuable and efficient tool. JAK enables the operations manager of this retail group to simply book a tradesperson for any of it’s store locations with just a tap of a button.

“Whether it be a power outage, flooding from rain or losing your keys; we think this is a great opportunity to connect service providers and customers in a more efficient way.”

Recently, Event Staffing Australia used the JAK app to book a locksmith onsite at Claremont Showgrounds for the OriginNYE Festival after a pair of keys for the cash drawers were lost in transit. Event Staffing Managing Director Matt Staunton said:

“Luckily the JAK app could help us get the closest locksmith and we had someone onsite within the hour. The service was great and the app was easy to use. I would definitely recommend it to anyone, whether for personal or business use”

Currently in the process of Series A funding, the startup is looking to raise up to $1M to fund national and international expansion. Trevor said

“JAK has been really well received since we entered the market and we are certainly looking forward to expanding the business in 2017.”

JAK currently offers plumbing and gas specialists, locksmiths, glaziers and electricians and is available to download FOR FREE via the Apple store and Google Play.
